March & April 2005 Sightings at Wormwood Scrubs
April and May 2005 at the Scrubs were dominated by the surprise discovery by the local birders and other users of the complete clearance of undergrowth along the track of woodland starting at the south eastern end of Braybrook Street southwards. Coupled with this was the massive swath cut through the middle of the Central Copse likened to a ‘motorway’ by the Friends of the Scrubs Chairwoman. August/September 2004 sightings at Wormwood Scrubs
What a couple of months! Two new additions to the Wormwood list plus one possible were had: a fine Peregrine – anticipated though no less spectacular; and a Honey Buzzard – certainly not expected and a complete surprise! July 2004 sightings at Wormwood Scrubs
Another relatively quiet month although there is an undercurrent of change. Smell the air and through the summer haze (when it’s not raining!) you can sense the autumnal atmosphere increasing..... Posted by Vincent Ganley on 8/24/04; 3:45:38 PM Discuss ¦ Friday, July 23, 2004
'Soul in the City' at the Scrubs 2 - 5pm Monday 26th, Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th July.
Everyone's welcome to come along and join with the 'Soul in the City' group as they get stuck into benches, fences and trees on Wormwood Scrubs Local Nature Reserve. It's definately going to be fun and we hope for some sun. Refreshments and equipment will be provided. It's a really practical day, honing those wood and woodcraft skills. The day will be led by the Conservation Officer for Wormwood Scrubs Local Nature Reserve as well as supervisors from the 'Soul in the City' group. The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham have very generously donated materials for the days. This is a great chance to tidy up our beloved Scrubs!! Call Vinny on: 07752 913 614 for details. SEE YOU THERE!!
